From the Desk of Our Principal
Pam Willis
Welcome to the Kinchafoonee Primary School Webpage! We hope that you will visit this site often as we will be constantly updating the website with information that will help you stay abreast of activities and events going on at KPS. We encourage you to become an active member of our KPS community. Parents and caregivers of our students play a vital role in helping students maximize their growth potential in school. We value you as a stakeholder in the Lee County School System and look forward to getting to know each of you personally!
At Kinchafoonee Primary School EVERY child is important. Your child is the sole reason that we, as educators, are here! Our goal is to not only provide opportunities in which our students achieve the state required academic skills but to also help each child develop a sense of curiosity about the world around them and help them find their place in it. Through engaging classroom activities, collaborative classroom environments and the use of technology, our goal is to prepare life-long learners that will not only achieve the status quo but excel in the 21st century!
Please feel free to call or email me if I can be of assistance to you. We are looking forward to another great year at KPS!
Thank you,
Pam Willis
From Our Assistant Principal
Darrin Potts
Greetings Trojan Nation! My name is Darrin Potts and I am elated to be the Assistant Principal for Kinchafoonee Primary School. I am honored to be a part of the premier school system of south Georgia. Prior to joining the amazing team at KPS, I spent 11 years teaching secondary mathematics, 10 of which were at Worth County High School and 1 at Tift County High School. Throughout my career, I have worked with learners from all levels and taught numerous mathematics courses. At KPS, we strive to provide a solid foundation for lifelong learning. Coming from a secondary background, I know firsthand the importance of solid educational foundations in terms of future academic success. In my educational journey I have completed coursework in Leadership and Curriculum/Instruction with which I worked with standards from all grade levels and content areas, and also gained experience with tasks such as completing vertical and horizontal alignment with elementary, middle, and high school teachers, and effective collaboration through professional learning communities.
I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia Southwestern State University prior to obtaining my teaching certification. I then earned my Master of Education in Secondary Education with a concentration in mathematics from Georgia Southern University, along with my certificate in Tier 1 Educational Leadership and Teacher Leader Endorsement. I also hold endorsements in Online Teaching and Gifted education. I am currently working to earn my Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State University and I have been admitted to dissertation candidacy. I was the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year for Worth County High School and district Teacher of the Year for the Worth County School District.
I have been married to Jessica Dodd Potts for nearly 9 years. We love traveling, taking cruises, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. I cannot wait for an amazing school year at KPS. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns and I will always do my very best to assist you. I can be reached at pottsmi@lee.k12.ga.us.
Thank you and go Trojans!!
